serve at the interfaith shelter
march 7 and march 8

St. John's will prepare and serve meals for the Interfaith Shelter on March 7 and 8. Workers will also be needed to help check people in for the night, clean up, and perform other tasks. We'll need 8 to 10 volunteers for each night. For more information, or to volunteer to help, please contact Rose Marie Tauche at (505) 231-2533.

Make Clothes For Infants In Need.

Get out your sewing machines and help make as many simple infant gowns, hoodies, and diapers as possible for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). Beginning January 28, there will sewing kits ready to pick up in the “cold hall” near the church office entrance. Please take them home to sew and return the completed project to the church no later than March 4.

These items will be taken to the UMCOR depot in Salt Lake City to be included in relief kits and sent to families all over the world. Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies when a disaster strikes.

Join a trip to the Holy Land in 2019. St. John's UMC, in collaboration with the Society for Biblical Studies, is organizing an eleven-day guided small group tour in February 2019. There will be an informational lunch and meeting on Sunday, January 14, from 12:15 - 1:45 pm in the Gathering Room. We encourage anyone interested in considering this trip to attend.
